1. What neighborhood do you live in?
Lowry
2. Why did you choose that neighborhood?
I chose Lowry as it was as close as I could get to the city, at the time, without being in the suburbs. Its really grown on me. Now that I have a child, I defiantly utilize its purpose far more. I like the sense of community and child centered activities that are available within a short walk or bike ride. You can often find us at the library for books and story time.
3. What are your favorite local Denver spots?
My daughter and I love to go “downtown Colo-ado”. She’s two and to a toddler there is no difference between City and State yet. Some of our adventures have been riding the 16th Street Mall free shuttle. We’ll get off and on the bus a couple of times and stop to play one of the pianos, listen to some street music and eventually make our way to the Pavilions to ride the escalators. We’ve done this about once a month since she was six months old to get our pictures taken in the photo booth at Lucky Strikes in the Pavilions. Biking is a new thing this summer after I got a child’s seat for my cruiser. We do a little urban bike ride, parking near Ink Coffee on Little Raven then biking up to Little Man Ice Cream. We cruise around then back down to dip our toes in and play in the Platte River by REI. Another place we like to go is South Pearl Street. If you’ve never tried the Salted Carmel ice cream at Pajama Baking Company, you must! Two to three blocks West of South Pearl Street is James Platte Park. I find this park is easier for toddlers to play on and build confidence. It’s lower to the ground than other play structures at parks that we’ve been to.
Farmers market on Sundays! The City Park Farmers Market is our favorite. There’s plenty of parking that is very close but not intrusive to the market and plenty of open space for a picnic along with the option of tables and chairs that they put out. I also like that there’s not that many products. More produce. I’ve found this market to be busy but not so busy that you can’t enjoy the experience as compared to some other markets. We stick to this one once a week for our produce and bread. This year my daughter is tall enough to reach the samples, which she takes full advantage of!
On an adult level, the Highlands is probably one of my favorite areas, strictly for the food! Between Sushi Hai, Lolas, Forrest Room 5, Uncle, and Coral Room, you can spend all day there just for the restaurants
But really, I just like to eat at local and unique spots. You won’t find me eating at any chains. A new favorite that I take visitors to and recommend to friends is Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs on Larimer. My gourmet dog is the German Veal topped with caramelized onions and cream cheese with a side order fried pickles made with The Real Dill habanero horseradish dills.

P.S. We love your style. What influences your personal style.
I like bold, anything really. People, color, art. While I find my clothing style rather boring, as I prefer to be very comfortable, I do think I put my condo together nicely with lots of color, and fun yet simple design for a small space. You’ll find reds, yellows, greens, and browns on the walls along with one ginormous chalk board wall in the dining room.
